Mussels with Chili, Garlic, and Lemon

This amazing mussels dish will cause a delightful stir at your dining table.

Serves 4 People
  • 1.5 kg mussels
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • Finely grated zest of 1 organic lemon
  • 1 tsp sea salt flakes
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • 1 red chili
  • 3 dl white wine
  • Flat-leaf parsley

This is the way To make it...

Method

  1. Rinse and clean the mussels thoroughly, and let them drain well.
  2. Finely chop the onion and garlic.
  3. Place the lemon juice and zest in a small bowl.
  4. Finely slice the chili and mix it with the lemon juice. Add sea salt flakes and pepper. Set aside for later.
  5. Heat the plancha.
  6. Brush the griddle with oil.
  7. Add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté until golden.
  8. Add the mussels and cook with the onions over high heat for 3-4 minutes.
  9. Pour in the white wine and lemon juice mixture and let it simmer, stirring occasionally, for a few minutes.
  10. Discard any mussels that have not opened and serve the mussels immediately.
  11. Garnish with flat-leaf parsley.
