Fried cabbage pieces with miso butter

Savor the flavor with simple yet delicious fried cabbage and miso butter.

Serves 4 People

Miso Butter

  • 75 g soft butter
  • 1 large tablespoon light miso

Cabbage

  • 2 small different types of cabbage, e.g., white cabbage, pointed cabbage, or red cabbage
  • 2 spring onions
  • 1 lime
  • Sesame seeds

Chili Oil

  • 1 teaspoon sambal oelek
  • 3 tablespoons good olive oil

This is the way To make it...

Method

  • Mix the soft butter with miso until well combined.
  • Stir the sambal oelek together with olive oil.
  • Cut the cabbage into wedges.
  • Finely slice the spring onions.
  • Cut the lime into wedges.
  • Heat up the plancha (griddle).
  • Brush the cooking surface with oil.
  • Place the cabbage pieces on the plancha and let them cook at high heat until they develop a nice sear. Optionally, cover the plancha with a lid for a few minutes to soften the cabbage.
  • Arrange the fried cabbage pieces on a platter. Add a dollop of miso butter on each piece to let it melt.
  • Drizzle the cabbage with chili oil and sprinkle with finely sliced spring onions and sesame seeds.
  • Serve with lime wedges.
